Sky High. Condition is "Used." Shipped via USPS Media Mail.
Packaging info notwithstanding, this informal jamsession was not recorded at The Record Plant, but at Steve Paul's The Scene, a popular NY nightclub/hangout. Its being not far from the aforementioned studio, Jimi Hendrix sat in at The Scene many times during the period during which he was recording Electric Ladyland. The exact date and personnel of this jamsession are unconfirmed. The date most widely (but not universally) accepted is 3/7/68; participants include Jimi Hendrix, [a drunken] Jim Morrison, and likely Lester Chambers (of The Chambers Brothers) on harmonica, There is another guitarist, a bassplayer, and a drummer, their identities not confirmed, Johnny Winter (despite having been managed by Steve Paul at the time) is not present. Neither are Mitch Mitchell or Noel Redding. This is the first commercial release of this material, on the Skydog label based in France and Holland. Due to a lack of any copyright's being attached to the performance at the time of this release, it was considered a legal (in Europe anyway) or gray-market release - - - thus one of the rarest 'legitimate' Jimi Hendrix releases.
Not customary cardboard jacket but cardstock wraparound w. b&w printing front & back (see photos).
Runout groove matrix #s = A / B.
