Description
BERNIE CUMMINS AND HIS ORCHESTRA got their start in the midwest, playing "Doo-Wacka-Doo" style hot jazz. Their recording career exactly paralleled that of The Wolverines in 1924, and reportedly, each band gave a "leg-up" to the other.
This fine record features Bernie and the boys in two terrific toe-tapping numbers, "JIMMINY GEE" and "WHEN THE WIND BLOWS NORTH (THEN I START GOING SOUTH)," actually one of the first songs about climate change!
This original 1924 Gennett 5486 is in quite serviceable V++ condition. Some wear and scratches, but a bonny fine copy all told.
