There are three Emarcy sessions on Cleveland’s first recording sessions, on August 4, 12 and November 22, 1955. The personnel is as follows: Jimmy Cleveland on trombone, Ernie Royal on trumpet, Lucky Thompson on tenor, Jerome Richardson on tenor, Cecil Payne on baritone, Wade Legge, John Williams and Hank Jones on piano, Barry Galbraith on guitar, Paul Chambers and Oscar Pettiford on bass and Joe Harris, Max Roach and Osie Johnson on drums. SIDE 1: HEAR YE! HEAR YE!; YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT LOVE IS; VIXEN; MY ONE AND ONLY LOVE and LITTLE BEAVER. SIDE 2: OUR LOVE IS HERE TO STAY; COUNT ‘EM; BONE BROTHERS; I HADN’T ANYONE ‘TIL YOU and SEE MINOR. This is a MONO recording.
I’ve graded both the LP and the record jacket as M- for the following reasons. The vinyl on the LP is completely clean of any marks on both sides. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole. The vinyl still retains its original luster. The record jacket is in M- condition, with little or no deterioration.
