MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original very first Mono press released by “Ultra High Fidelity” Dot Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1963 by Corporación De Radio De Chile S.A. (CRC Records), licensed from Dot Records Inc., USA, catalog number 45-D-40, with machine etched matrix numbers 45-D-40-A LT (“LT” handwritten) R1 S in Side A and 45-D-40-B LT (“LT” handwritten) R1in Side B, with traditional black/silver Dot Records labels, with tricolor “Dot” logo and push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile for all lovers, fans and collectors of Jimmy Gilmer and early days of Rock’N’Roll music!!!

“Sugar Shack” was originally released in May 1962 and the same year we could see this single released here in Chile. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters, play time of each song and the original price, “E°3,00”, printed in Side A. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this single by Jimmy Gilmer And The Fireballs, a record almost never seen with Spanish-written song titles and maybe now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs, hairlines and light scratches, which don’t affect play, with the push-out center removed. Labels are in VG+ or EX- condition both sides, clear and clean, with some spindle hole wear, some faint blemishes hard to see at first sight and a small writing in Side A trying to erase the price. The sound is in strong EX or even EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only occasional soft crackles, more “evident” in the last seconds of each song, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but for sure with still a nice look, clean labels and great sound quality after about 56 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
