From Johnny D.'s popular "Arizona records for sale" box we present a beautiful copy of this great Country/Rocker. You are bidding on a HTF 78 record by JIMMY JOHNSON' titled "Cat Daddy" b/w "How About Me?- Pretty Baby" on Viv # 8-3000. Jimmy is backed on both sides by The Arizona Hayriders featuring Al Casey. Produced by Lee Hazlewood. This copy is from the original 78 boxes owned at the time by Loy Clingman, who had a large stock of unsold Viv records in his house/studio at 4625 N. 50th Drive in Phoenix. In 1974 Ed Smith, aka "The Worthless Man," had a record store in downtown Phoenix and tracked Clingman down looking for "Cat Daddy" on a 45, as it was very collectible in those days (still is). Loy was out of the 45's but he gave Smith some "Cat Daddy" 78's. A few months later the famous Blues/Rockabilly collector and Teddy Boy "Breathless" Dan Coffey bought 5 copies of the Viv 78 from Smith and shipped them back to his native Ireland, never too be seen again. Recently Coffey's son Donal started selling off his late fathers records by lots and I won a lot with a couple of these same "Cat Daddy" 78's...now back in Phoenix, 62 years after being made and 47 years after leaving the Valley. Wow now that is a roundabout story! Vinyl / labels are VG++, with some small, light visible smudges on the disc. I cleaned off the storage film and this copy plays great. This is a 78 rpm record with new gold paper sleeve. The last two copies I sold on eBay went for $100+ several years ago. A beautiful copy! See scan. All 78's shipped sandwiched between cardboard in a 12 x 12 x 4 box with packing material.
