A full half-century from when he started out in the blues business, Jimmy McCracklin is still touring, recording, and acting like a much younger man. In fact, he vehemently disputes his commonly accepted birth date -- but since he began recording back in 1945, it seems reasonable.
The Blues Blasters consisted of McCracklin (piano), Robert Kelton (guitar) and Little Red (drums), although horns were also used on many of their recording sessions. This album is compiled from a number of original acetates dating from 1948, ´49 and ´50. 3 tracks were never released at the time and others include variations of performances previously issued on 78 rpm.
