Chicago Blues great. At the time of these recordings Jimmy Reed was as popular in Chicago and with Blues audiences as Wolf and Muddy.


Influenced Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan ( who wrote a song about him) and The Rolling Stones who recorded his songs


He has been called perhaps the most accessible bluesmen of all which is why he got airplay


Despite this whether it was being on Vee-Jay and not Chess. Having alcohol problems, and not being promoted the way Wolf and Muddy were has caused him not to be as well known


Great songwriter. Great performer.
