JIMMY SMITH - Root Down / Jimmy Smith Live - Vinyl LP. Verve Records   -   V6-8806   -   1972 Matrix Nos: V6 - 8806 - S1, V6 - 8806 - S2
This is the original Canadian Verve pressing. Recorded in February 1972 in Los Angeles, California. 
The cover has a hole drilled through bottom right. This was there when it was first bought as I couldn't get a UK release and this was a record shop promo which I persuaded him to sell. Apart from that hole it is in excellent condition with just the beginnings of ring wear at the top.
The labels are very clean with only a couple of spindle lines on side 2. 
The vinyl is in near mint condition, with no scratches, sticks, jumps, warps or distortion. Even under a bright light there are no scuffs or lines. It looks unplayed, although I played this when I bought it and again today just to make sure it was as good as I remember. A great pressing and it sounds like you are on the stage with the band. It is only in such good condition as I prefer to listen to studio albums. It's even quiet on the lead-ins, run-outs and between tracks.
