6 lp lot. Soul jazz featuring the Hammond B-3. These albums (among many others I have slowly bled out) were lovingly compiled by a long-time collector. Desparate organ-grinders, indeed.
1) ANY NUMBER CAN WIN by Jimmy Smith. Released 1963 on Verve Records (V6-8552), stereo. Gatefold jacket. Original company dust sleeve included. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; exterior laminate is intact, with sparse edge wear; NO splitting.
2) GROOVE DROPS by Jimmy Smith. Released 1969 on Verve Records (V6-8794), stereo. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; light edge wear, NO splitting; boards are clean and bright.
3) JAZZ AS I FEEL IT by Earl Bostic, featuring Richard Groove Holmes, organ. Released 1963 on King Records (846), stereo. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; 3" split on top edge; otherwise, NO edge wear or rubs, boards are clean and bright.
4) BLUES FOR MISTER JIMMY by Jimmy McGriff. Released 1965 on King Records (LP 1039), mono. Vinyl = vg+; sparse scuffs do not affect play; excellent gloss, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; light edge wear, NO splitting.
5) SOUL MESSAGE by Richard Groove Holmes. Released 1965 on Prestige Records (7435), stereo. Run-outs are stamped VAN GELDER. Vinyl = vg; sparse hairlines betray minimal surface noise, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; light edge wear and rubbing, NO splitting.
6) A CHANGE IS GONNA COME by Brother Jack McDuff. Released 1966 on Atlantic Records (SD 1463), stereo. Labels are stamped DJ COPY FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY. Company dust sleeve is included. Vinyl = vg+; faint, wispy sleeve scuffs do not affect play, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; glossy laminated front board is intact; NO splitting, rubbing or edge wear.
