Description
THE JIMMY WYBLE QUINTET's self-titled album (though commonly known as "Diane" after one of the 8 songs) released on VANTAGE RECORDS (VLP-4) in 1953 is a 10" EP 1st Pressing of this rare Jazz album in this condition. See back cover (Scan 2) for songtitles/condition and Scan 3 for labels. The music is wild with accordion and clarinet and rhythm section accompanying the unusual guitarist.
The RECORD is in strong VERY GOOD PLUS condition and appears to have been played 4-5 times judging by the visible spindle marks on the labels with a handful of hairline scratches, small marks, or sleeve marks on each side but appearing quite clean in general, with some spotting from age and/or pressing. On Test Playing - I spot played each side throughout. Side One plays close to Near Mint with a minimum of surface noise throughout with no major ticks heard. On Side 2, there is bit more surface noise throughout but not too heavy to obscure the music, and is a VG+ Play.
The laminated (front) COVER is also in strong VERY GOOD PLUS condition, with all seams clean and fully intact (2 very slight marks bottom), corners generally sharp but showing light wear on the bottom right with a little paper showing), and very light wear on the front and back, with some light pencil marks numbering the songs (could be erased). A beauty.
