Description

This is Blue Note Records BST 84100, Jimmy Smith Plays Fats Waller, a blue and white, New York USA, deep groove (although most books say no deep groove on this issue, I see it on side 2 especially, but also on parts of side 1) label, original stereo issue with Van Gelder and the p(ear) mark stamped in the dead wax. The record looks VG++ but the few marks on both sides play with occasional light background clicks audible well below the music, especially at the beginning of the sides so I downgraded to a strong VG+. There are no skips or distortion of the music. The laminated cover has a 2" split on open end of top seam and 6" clear tape on bottom seam with light edge wear on top and bottom seams. The labels have light spindle marks but a record store stamp. The record was played on a Linn Sondek LP12 and cleaned on a VPI 17. This is still a collector's grade copy of this original Blue Note with all the appropriate markers evident. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping for multiple wins.
