Description
Prestige 7023 The address on both labels is 446 W. 50th St., N.Y.C.; the same address at the bottom of the back cover. Deep groove. The initials, "RVG", for Rudy Van Gelder, engineer, are inscribed in the dead wax.

Recorded in 1949. 4 tracks with leader, Kai Winding, trombone with Brew Moore, tenor sax; Gerry Mulligan, baritone sax; George Wallington, piano; Curly Russell, bass; Roy Haynes, drums. Recorded in 1949. 4 tracks with leader, Benny Green, trombone with Eddie Davis, "Big Nick" Nicholas, tenor saxes; Rudy Williams, baritone sax; Teddy Brannon, piano; Tommy Potter, bass, Art Blakey, drums. Recorded in 1951.
Cover: Fair(+) 5" and 1" split on the top edge, 10" masking tape applied to the bottom edge. 1" split at the top of the spine. Name of the previous owner is written at the top of the back cover. 2 initials are written in black marker on the back cover (see scan). There is a tear on the front cover near the top edge and the spine of approximately 5" X 1". A record ring on the back cover and light overall aging.
Record: VG++ to Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. A very few faint, brush like surface rub marks on both sides. These are barely visible and do not affect the sound. Also, a small number of tiny discoloration spots on the surface that do not affect the sound. In spite of the conditon of the jacket, the record appears to have been played only a few times with care. Side A, Track 3, 2 faint clicks, barely audible, and 2 equally light clicks at the end of the Track. Track 4 has 3 or 4 equally light clicks at the beginning of the Track and several more that repete and are very light further along the Track. 1 faint click towards the end of the Track. On Side B, Track 1, 2 light clicks. Track 3, 2 light clicks at the beginning of the Track with a few more very light clicks further along the track, barely audible. 4 or 5 clicks on Track 4. Audibly checked.
