WE CAN THINK OF NO OTHER MORE INFLUENTIAL OR IMPORTANT FEMALE SINGER -SONGWRITER OF THE PAST 50 YEARS THAN JOAN BAEZ. OVER THE YEARS, JOAN DEFIED CATEGORIES, DATED (AND ALMOST MARRIED) BOB DYLAN, INSPIRED ENTIRE POLITICAL MOVEMENTS AND CREATED SOME TRULY LUMINOUS, GORGEOUS MUSIC, THE IMPORTANCE AND SHEER HAUNTING BEAUTY OF WHICH CANNOT BE OVERSTATED. THIS ALBUM, WHICH CAME IN 1975, WAS BY FAR JOAN'S MOST POPULAR AND COMMERCIALLY SUCCESSFUL TITLE.

The NAUTILUS RECORDS audiophile vinyl pressings of the late 1970's and early 1980's (and there was only a handful of those) were not only audiophile and connoisseur masterpieces, they have become true pieces of audio history and its lore. These majestic recordings received an intense, meticulous and laborious treatment like very few other recordings in the entire history of the recorded sound. They are characterized by the massively extended dynamic and frequency range, mastering from the very first generation of original master tapes, almost compulsive attention paid to the detail and integrity of the pressing, and the highest quality of the material: only the "virgin-", audiophile-grade vinyl was used, and most LP albums were pressed at RCA/Victor and/or Warner-Pioneer corporations of Japan, both known for their near-maniacal attention paid to the fine sonic detail and audio craftsmanship. To this day, many of these recordings remain unsurpassed, delivering music reproduction as close to the actual recording session as possible, without any loss of musical information inherent in the standard practice of mastering from the inferior "production" copies. This is one of the rare opportunities to acquire this great album in its true, original, primordial audio format., no longer in print, and no longer easily obtainable. In the best tradition of NAUTILUS records, the sound quality is truly extraordinary - much better, actually, than the original vinyl version of this album.

(a)          WE GRADE THE RECORD AS NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The album comes with the original insert/lyrics sheet still intact.

(c)           The record is STILL in its original inner, hi-grade PVC inner sleeve, which has - apparently with success - shielded the record from the harmful impact of elements over many years!

(d)          The album comes with its original Nautilus insert included

(e)           The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the very first pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, exceedingly vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from your compact disc!

(f)            Also, the record is pressed on a beautiful, virgin-grade vinyl, which is usually used for audiophile, extended-dynamic-range, half-speed mastered and connoisseur pressings.

(g)          PLEASE NOTE:  This - of course - is an ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD+++.

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a light "wrinkle" (crease)  in two of its corners (one in each)

-        Minor shelf wear noted on the seams (nothing significant)

-        Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine

-        Cover has a partially split top seam (between 1 and 2 inches  / 2.5 to 5 centimeters)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No ring wear

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No yellowing from aging

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams

-        No peel-off marks

-        No stains

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
