Description
Joan Jett - Joan Jett (Blackheart JJ 707), 1980. STILL SEALED.
This is Joan's first solo album post-Runaways. Recorded in 1979, Joan and producer/cohort Kenny Laguna were unsuccessful in getting a deal with a record label so they pressed it themselves on their BLACKHEART label and sold the record at shows, literally out of the trunk of their car. Joan had traveled to England to record with Steve Jones & Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols. Two of those tracks (You Don't Own Me & Don't Abuse Me) are included herein. Jett began receiving favorable concert reviews for her shows and garnered significant radio airplay for some of these songs, especially "Touch Me" (also known as "Do You Wanna Touch Me") and "Bad Reputation", and Joan was signed by Boardwalk Records who re-released this album in 1981 as "Bad Reputation." The cover of that re-release was re-done and features that title on the front. This cover only mentions JOAN JETT.
