JOAO GILBERTO: O AMOR, O SORRISO E A FLOR (1960), ODEON MOFB 3151, BRAZIL, 33 1/3, LP
The second album by João Gilberto from 1960 - here in the original Brazilian pressing, first edition - includes the "Samba de Uma Nota Só" ("One Note Samba"), which was immediately successful and became a classic of Bossa nova.
AllMusic says: "The most essential albums recorded by João Gilberto are his first three, Chega de Saudade (1959), O Amor, O Sorriso e a Flor (1960), and João Gilberto (1961). All three remain extremely up-to-date and share in common a superb standard of quality in compositions, arrangements (mostly designed by Tom Jobim), and Gilberto's performances at the guitar and voice."

Rare original Brazil LP, first pressing. Jacket is wrapped in plastic, as usual in Brazilian pressings from this record company of this era. The cover has some traces of dust and stains, ring wear on the back cover, plastic has seam splits on spine and bottom (see pictures) = VG
The record has a scratch at the end of "O Pato" and at the beginning of "Corcovado", there might be a skip. Otherwise the record plays almost excellent, only minimal fizz and crackling in some tracks = VG

All of my records are carefully packed in sturdy cardboard mailers. I will add two cardboard supports, and the record will be out of sleeve to prevent seam splits.
