BOTH OF HIS RARE COLLECTIBLE LPs
While Jobraith has a considerable cult following, he never made it big commercially despite much promotion and is considered one of the all-time record company mistakes. It is reported he was signed to Elektra Records and received an unheard of $500,000 advance. Some may still remember the massive advertising campaign on his behalf in 1973, including the nude album cover picture which adorned a 43 x 41 billboard on Times Square, on buses, in music magazines etc. He is credited as being the first mass-marketed pop star, and the first to be openly gay.
Despite some well received reviews, he was not a big commercial success. Glamrock was fading from the scene and after two LPs he was gone. These are the two LPs.
