Here's a very rare (try finding another one!) hard rock single by obscure band Jody St. from 1981
Self released with just a simple track title sticker on each side and LIPS 1 stamped in the run-out
A side - "Granny Did It" B side - "Fightback"
My research shows that band members included John Mizarolli who went on to form rock band Ginger Baker's Energy and Henry "King Thumb" Thomas who went on to play for endless international artists, gigged and recorded countless hit records, TV and film soundtracks. He is also famous for his role as co-founder of the BBC TV series Rockschool. He has a rare expertise of being able to sight-read and improvise at an extremely high level.
The bands he played with include : Bros, Ginger Baker's Energy, Paz, Laid Back, Crusaders, Working Week, 911, All Saints, Heatwave, Hot Chocolate, Tim Whitehead Quartet, Sunwind... He also played for and with : Gloria Gaynor, Debbie Gibson, Jaki Graham, Juliet Roberts, Martika, Sarah Jane Morris, Phyllis Nelson, Claire Hamill, Simona Bencini, Sally Johnson, Randy Crawford, Adrian Burns, Errol Brown, Jim Capaldi, David Grant, Billy Ocean, Geoffrey Osborne, Justin Hayward, Labi Siffri, Leon Ware, Omar, Paul Weller, Troy Tate, Van Morrison, Cliff Richard, Allan Holdsworth, Jim Mullen, John Etheridge, Marc Ribot, Barbara Thompson, Mornington Locket, Didier Lockwood, Herbie Hancock...
