MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original EMI Odeon Records very first Stereo press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1970 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records, Chile), catalog number MSOD 8855, with hand etched matrix numbers XCARX-56/4 6 in Side A and XCARX-56/1 5 in Side B, with white/black/red EMI Odeon Records of the period and labels with 4-prong push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“With A Little Help From My Friends” was originally released in October 1968, with “Something's Coming On” as Side B, in USA but the song only reached number 68 in charts. It was only after the film “Woodstock”, in 1969, when this song became a worldwide hit and Chile wasn’t the exception. But here in Chile we got this single released in 1970 and with song “Feeling Alright” as Side B (originally a sin gle released in USA in May 1969 with “Sandpaper Cadillac” as Side B). So so far I know this single with these songs as Side A and B was RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE. Song titles are written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and production of each song, with additional information in Side A “Theme included in film ‘Woodstock’”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this classic single “With A Little Help From My Friends” by Joe Cocker, with Spanish-written song titles and ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE with “Feeling Alright” as Side B and EMI Odeon Records labels, a record almost never seen in this Chilean issue and in GREAT CONDITION!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Joe Cocker and The Beatles!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in nice VG+ or EX- condition both sides, clean and glossy, but with many scuffs, hairlines and very light scratches of all sizes and in all directions, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in nice EX or EX+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with some spindle hole wear, faint age browning and the name of some past owner written in Side A, with the push-out center intact. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant very soft crackles, more evident in the last seconds of each song, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE AND UNIQUE CHILEAN PRESS, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure with still a glossy look, almost immaculate labels and still a great sound quality after about 52 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget this MEGARARE PRESS with EMI Odeon Records labels was RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
