Description
JOE COCKER "WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS" CUBE INT 188.000 (1982)
Founded in 1966 in Stuttgart, Germany, in the beginning Intercord was a label for classical music and German songwriters. Expanded later to an independent record label, they specialised in high quailty audiophile releases alongside more contemporary independent releases. In 1994 the company was acquired by EMI. The label was dissolved and merged into the EMI Electrola roster in 2000.
Mastered by Rico Sondregger, with plating and pressing at Teldec in Germany, this is one of the first (if not THE first) half speed master of this classic Joe Cocker LP from 1969. The front cover is emblazened with the words "HALF SPEED MASTER" across the top of the original artwork, which has been recreated to include the Fly logo and Cube label on the LP itself. Another nice touch in their attention to detail is the recreation of the generic Decca inner bag the LP would have come with back in 1969.
This copy is graded as VG/EX in accordance with the recognised Record Collector Gradings. The stiff gloss laminated card cover shows wear in the form of a few small creases on the top and left spines, but is in great condition otherwise for it's age and still has the gloss finish of a new LP!! The cover has been removed from its original polythene sleeve and placed inside a heavier guage polythene cover. The LP itself would have been listed as NM, were it not for the slightest of spindle marks - but all told this copy is as near a perfect copy we've ever seen of an incredibly rare pressing.
