Description
This is Blue Note Records BLP 4140, Joe Henderson Page One, a blue and white New York USA Microgroove label original mono issue of this classic record with the ear (p) mark and Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax. A rare record.
The record is in VG(-) condition showing scratches on both sides that cause background noise below the music, most pronounced at the beginning of side one and the end of side two. However, the record plays with no distortion.
NOTE: THERE IS 1 SKIP ON MY SYSTEM, WHICH MAY BE ADDRESSED BY A VACUUM CLEAN. It was not reported by the original seller of this record, but I need to make bidders aware.
My play notes read: "Side A: light tics on 1st half, going from VG(-) to VG(+); Side B: light crackle in quiet spots, overall VG(+) until one skip near the end of the last track "
The laminated cover, with the 43 West 61st St. New York 23 address, has loss on both bottom corners probably due to a pet cat and some age discoloration on the back but is intact. The labels show spindle marks and sticker residue.
The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 by the prior owner. This is still a nice initial "play" grade copy of this classic original mono Blue Note.
Please see my other auctions this week for more classic jazz LPs.
