JOE MCPHEE QUARTET - Underground Railroad LP CJR 1969 - M-/M- RARE
Very rare first Joe McPhee Quartet album from 1969, earlier and probably rarer even than Nation Time (see other auctions).
Reggie Marks, Tyrone Crabb and Ernest (Ernie) Bostic round out the group - black freedom themes in full effect with song titles. This was issued in an edition of 500 copies.
Condition is excellent.
Cover is very close to mint with only slight bumps to lower corners and super faint ringwear, more noticeable at the bottom than top and back than front.
This was a promo copy and has a rather crude sticker stamped and affixed to the lower right rear cover. Totally cool.
vinyl is in great condition, played only a handful of times and kept filed.
while the cover is probably m-, since this is so rare I'll go ultra-conservative and call it vg++
