An item which certainly is amongst the rarest of Rock 'n' Roll/R&B E.P.'s,I don't remember when I last saw a copy of this particular item in halfway decent condition.This copy has obviously been enjoyed over the years but has been well looked after.There are a lot of very light surface scuffs [not scratches] but these do not effect the play which is near perfect both sides.There is an occasional bit of very low level background noise but this does nothing to impair the enjoyment of these four classic tracks.The maroon labels with silver print are very bright and unrubbed with just a few light play marks around the spindle hole.The tri-centre is nice and firm on all three anchor points.Graded as VG+ but plays EX.The fully laminated cover is in excellent condition with no splits or tears.There is a tiny piece of lamination off the front right hand side,visible in the photo as a slightly lighter coloured patch but this is very minor and hardly notices.Virtually no ringwear is visible back or front.Back is very clean with the laminate intact,just a very tiny piece [aprox quarter inch] off the top flipback on the left hand side.Very slight chipping to the corners.Graded as EX.Overall a very nice copy of this incredibly rare E.P.Low starting price and no reserve.
As a point of interest I had some US R&B 78's in recently and one of them,on the US Decca label was Corrine Corrina by the pianist Art Tatum and his Band.Vocal [stated in small print] was Joe Turner.Apart from being a much Jazzier version of the tune,it was issued in June 1941.I hadn't realised this tune had originally been recorded so much earlier.
