All records are strictly, accurately, honestly,conservatively & correctly graded (under a very unforgiving halogen bulb)...with enough high resolution SUPERSIZE pics to show the item in full detail....prior to listing, all records (unless SEALED / UNPLAYED or just already very clean) are cleaned (using the suction method of an Okki Nokki record cleaning machine), play tested (as, I'm sorry, but a visual grading of vinyl simply isn't sufficient...records are for playing & can be unpredictable !!) on my REGA P1 with ORTOFON 510 Mk II cartridge...a great combination if you are on a budget, given a new polylined inner sleeve, a 400 grade poly outer to protect the sleeve & are ready to play when delivered.

PLEASE NOTE: I haven't jumped on the NM or MINT- (!?) bandwagon...classical records from the golden age of 1958 to 1964 have usually been played with a harsh stylus and as a result play with constant surface noise & clicks...hence why the majority of classical dealers simply grade on appearance rather than putting them anywhere near a turntable, and use their 'blanket' grading of NM / NM- / or MINT-. ALL records are played in their entirety and graded on their own merits.

UK 1956 COLUMBIA 2 x One Sided TEST PRESSINGS 33CX 1497 MONO...XAX 898-1N/ XAX 899-1N...Extremely hard to find original test records. Both records come in the original brown paper / envelope sleeves ink stamped 'MATRIX PASSED BY QUALITY CONTROL' and ink stamped date 4th July 1956. 

ITEM CONDITION

SLEEVES - Both VERY GOOD (Crisp & solid...with details of the recording added...see pics, use the hover zoom option for close up detail, rather than the slideshow).

VINYL - Both records visually EXCELLENT with only a couple of visible spindle traces on each...however...RECORD ONE has a small edge warp which plays through without jumping on my REGA P1 with ORTOFON Cartridge but with a dull click on each 'wobble' for approximately 2 minutes...I tested this again on a friends turntable (WALKER CJ55 with AUDIO TECHNICA 110E cartridge) and it jumped until he adjusted the tracking weight & then it played through with only the dull clicks...Otherwise RECORD ONE plays very well with a little light crackle in parts & the occasional light click, NO louder clicks, NO pops, NO jumps, NO sticks, a little distortion towards the very end of the side during the frentic finale sections...RECORD ONE grades VERY GOOD.

REDORD TWO plays very well with a little light crackle & occasional light clicks, NO louder clicks, NO pops, NO jumps, NO sticks, NO distortion and grades VERY GOOD PLUS / EXCELLENT...Both play with Clear, Precise,& Powerful Sound).
