JOHN COLTRANE - ASCENSION - IMPULSE 95 on VEGA Original French Pressing with Version N°1 Different Take than US Impulse AS95 
Tenor Saxophone – Archie Shepp, John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders Trumpet – Dewey Johnson, Freddie Hubbard Alto Saxophone – John Tchicai, Marion Brown Piano – McCoy Tyner Bass – Art Davis, Jimmy Garrison Drums – Elvin Jones
Producer – Bob Thiele Engineer & Mastered By – Rudy Van Gelder Recorded 28 June, 1965 at Van Gelder Studios, Englewood Cliffs, N.J. 
The original US pressing on Impulse AS95 is the 2nd pressing with the 1st take of the piece.  By accident Bob Thiele put out the wrong take. After he went through the initial press run, he switched the masters to the other take and inscribed edition II on the inside of the runout circle. So there are really two versions of ascension.
