This one is a mono first pressing of John Coltrane's ASCENSION on Impulse Records A-95. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, in 1965, with "VAN GELDER" stamped on the dead wax of both sides.
Performed with the John Coltrane Orchestra. Personnel: see picture no. 2. John Coltrane/Pharoah Sander/Archie Shepp (tenor saxophones), Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), McCoy Tyner (piano), Art Davis/Jimmy Garrison (bass), Marion Brown/John Tchicai (alto saxophone), Dewey Johnson (trumpet), Elvin Jones (drums).
The Record looks and plays NM on both sides. Grooves do not show any wear or damage. The disc looks shine and grossly on both sides.
The gatefold laminated cover is VG++. Strong/No split. Small ware at the top right seam. Light yellow spots. The spine is intact and readable.
The record is play graded as well as visually. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws.
My grading is as follows: M (perfectly like new), NM, VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, G-.
