Description
For your consideration. A very clean JOHN COLTRANE First pressing - ASCENSION Lp, Impluse A-95 in very nice condition. - Original 1st pressing Rudy Van Gelder engineered circa 1966. ( VAN GELDER ETCHED IN DEAD WAX). Recorded in one session in June 1956. It is considered a watershed in Coltrane's work, with the albums recorded before it being more conventional in structure and the albums recorded after it being looser, free jazz inspired works. In addition, it signaled Coltrane's interest in moving away from the quartet format. a rare find in this condition!! Add this to your classic jazz collection from what is the transitional LP in the career of John Coltrane. Add to the collection or win as a great gift for that special record collector in your life. This LP is from a public setting ( The Niagara Falls, NY Library), but is in amazing shape.
