Description

FOR AUCTION:  This is the 1963 album Ballads by the John Coltrane Quartet on Impulse label (A-32). This is the Mono first pressing with "bell sound" in dead wax. This is a solid VG+ copy. The vinyl has some sleeve scratches that are only visible under 100 watt light. Most would call this one Excellent, but I like happy customers so I'll go low and you'll be pleasantly suprised. I did play a couple of tracks and they played with no distraction. It came from a big Jazz collection I just got in and there was no innersleeve on this one. So I cleaned it up and put it in a new poly lined inner sleeve. The laminate has started peeling on the back cover in a few spots. Please see pic # 5. In my opinion it is not bad when you take into account how nice the rest of the cover is. The cover has been cleaned of all soiling. The inside of the gatefold is still stiff after 47 years and the inside is a nice white just like new. The Lp still retains its original luster. This is definately a collector copy. God knows this will go to Japan and if my hunch is right you need to be in contact with me. I will only send this lp registered mail so be ready to fork out some bucks on S&H. This is for both our protection. This is another fine example of the records I have become known for.  Please bid with confidence and feel free to email with questions. I am a T. R. Seller with 100% feedback I will keep it that way. I sell no trash, everything I list is in collector quality condition as I myself am one of the biggest collectors in Indiana. All Records will be professionally cleaned and placed in brand new protective outersleeves!

Please disregard if you are an honest Ebayer like myself. I have heard about all the scams that are going on in the Record department of Ebay. If you try to pull a switch, I will know. I have nothing but time in between record conventions and I will make sure you are dealt with! I have been laid off for over a year. I spend thousands of my hard earned money buying records. Please do not pull any scams this is how I put food on the table. I am sorry to all the good Ebayers out there, but these people are ruining Ebay and scaring away good dealers. I mean why would anyone sell on here if they are going to be out the money and their record. If Ebay does not deal with this they are going to lose all the reputable dealers and be stuck with the flea market crowd that couldn't tell you the difference between a VG record and a Mint one.

CONDITION:

Vinyl =  VG+  (7/10)!  Some light sleeve scratches, No Scuffs, Production Bubbles, Cracks, Finger scrapes! Lots of luster just like 1963!

Cover = EX (8/10)    Tight spine, no seam splits, cuts,  no pen/pencil marks, no ring wear,  and no disappointments, etc... just a Great cover!!!

Label =  NM (9/10) No tears, peels, spindle hole damage!

Shot In The Dark Grading System:

Mint = only reserved for Sealed/Perfect Lps 10/10

Near Mint =  the record may have been played once or twice on good equipment. Near Mint vinyl should sound New when dust is cleaned off and the records played with a properly aligned cartridge and good needle. A Near Mint cover should be one that either looks new or still has the shrink wrap on it. Near Mint is usually reserved for record collectors that don't mind spending premium in order to get the best quality copy of a recording. 9 out of 10

Excellent = EX (8/10) Record will have a blemish such as a fingernail or sleeve scuff that does not affect play. This grade is neccesary for the discriminate collector.

Very Good + = VG+ is a grade that I use for most lps that have been played a handful of times with care. It may have one or two scratches (should not be feelable with finger) that DO NOT affect play or some sleeve scuffs from being pulled and played. When put on your record platter a VG+ record should sound great. There should not be background noise (when properly cleaned) or pops, skips, or any other distracment from the music. You should be able to listen to a VG+ record time and time again and enjoy it. 6,7 out of 10

Very Good =  Record has been played and played and played. Record will have background noise. Maybe a pop or skip on certain tracks. Covers will have seam splits. A pretty "loved" piece of vinyl. 4,5 out of 10. Should still play without hurting your needle. Unless its very rare I do not list VG records. My moto is "If you can't play and enjoy it, it ain't no good"  I grade according to Goldmine and Osbourne standards. I strive to keep my feedback 100% positive!!!
