RECORD COLLECTORS!
See HOW WE GRADE LP's; learn "record jargon" (a vocabulary of sorts); what's a HOT STAMPER?: Rainy Day Records (established 1981).

If we don’t earn your positive feedback and 5-star ratings across the board, please contact us so we can make things right.
YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY!

Much has been written about this album. It's not music for the masses like Brubeck's Time Out nor does it enjoy the snob appeal of Miles' Kind Of Blue; it certainly doesn't attract the over-hip like A Love Supreme or the really gone like Ayler's Holy Ghost. The album you're viewing is a bit more esoteric, just a little under the radar; it's the poor man's cool, the working man's blessed holiday. Oh, the Michael Fremers of the world know it intimately and sing its praises saying things like one of his most influential recordings or one of the greatest records from the golden age of Blue Note.

Me, I'm a simple online record store clerk. What do I know? I just like to listen to Coltrane's BLUE TRAIN, and I've done so at least a hundred times and, you know, I still find something new and exciting each listen. When my boss asked me to write the text for this listing I told her that there was really nothing to say -- at least nothing that hasn't already been said about a million times. I told her: "The music speaks. That's all you need".

I might have been wrong.

The now dead-and-buried Classic Records developed what they claimed to be 'the ultimate in vinyl formulation', a boast that may just hit the mark. Let me say in my own words what Classic said about their new Clarity Vinyl. It's made of more than 90% of the highest quality co-polymer around (I'm told that co-polymer is the main ingredient in vinyl pellets from which records are pressed); also, there's no carbon black. This carbon black is a bad mutha because it contains trace metals that become magnetized, creating all manner of distortion in the music during play. So, by removing the carbon black, Classic has reduced what sounds like a smear or a smudge in the music -- subtle, but noticeable when you play it loud as I like to. Now we all know that 45-rpm provides higher fidelity than 33?. Again, it's subtle or as Classic says: it extracts more of the nuance from the complex vertical and horizontal groove modulations in stereo LP’s. Whatever. And one more thing -- being single-sided reduces mechanical resonances in the cartridge and actually transfers these resonances to the turntable platter where they are absorbed and don't manifest as distortion in the sound. Bottom line: This Clarity Vinyl thing significantly reduces every aspect of distortion during your playback; plus, they look VERY cool!

Clarity Vinyl allows you to crank up the volume and hear an album like you've never heard it before. The sound is wide and clean, open and transparent, all the things you want when you kick back after a hard day in the salt mines. You don't need a beer or a joint -- the music gets you high. What better recommendation is there?

The details: This is a stereo 4-LP box set unplayed and in MINT condition (minor flaw upper right corner of lid). It is NEW and perfect in every way except for the lid which is barely detectable. Our opening bid is the lowest price anywhere and we even pay S&H and insurance (within the USA only). In addition, our return policies are the most liberal and generous in the business. And I humbly declare our sales team to be THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE IN THE BIZ!
