JOHN COLTRANE - BLUE TRAIN
BLP 1577 - RVG STAMPED, EAR P
High Fidelity. (bottom) For Complete Catalog Write to BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23. The symbol of an ear is inscribed into the run out grooves of both sides, with RVG & 9M stamped into the run out. The track duration does not appear on the release (back cover).
This is a mid 1960s pressing on the Blue Note label.
We have play tested this: Plays good with clear audio. There are no skips, skating or repetitive skip playback There is some background noise, that is not overwhelming but present throughout but is more predominant in the quiet parts and on the runin/outs, a few loud pops, especially on Side A where there are some visual blemishes but they are on both sides with crackles present, but the audio is still loud and beautiful as you’d expect from an original Blue Note.
The condition of the vinyl is nice and glossy, and looks okay, however there are a few scratches and blemishes, of which the latter mentioned above gives off some pops each revolution.
The cover has some corner blunting and corner wear, with a few areas of scuffing and wear, and some markings. There is a seam split to the bottom, and some of the laminate to the left hand side has started to peel back slightly, and on the reverse there is remanence of tape that was there (most probably to strengthen the cover at one point) There are 2 import stamps to the reverse, but overall appears in okay condition for a 60s release.
The dead wax also has 2 minuscule holes, these do not affect play, and look at some point as though they were punched.
This is a lower grade copy of a Jazz grail, that is more affordable than similar - giving somebody a chance to own this amazing record.

The record is stored in an Anti-Static Audiophile sleeve, and housed in a 75 microns PP Crystal outer sleeve.
We do not clean vinyl.
All records are shipped outside their covers in their anti-static sleeve, to prevent tears and damage. We ship in specific vinyl cardboard mailers only, to give the correct protection in transit.
