This is the 1958, first edition, DG, mono, “RVG” stamped, “P” pressing of JOHN COLTRANE’s “Blue Train” on the (EXTREMELY RARE) “47 West 63rd New York 23” labels of Blue Note BLP 1577. Musicians include John Coltrane, Lee Morgan, Curtis Fuller, Kenny Drew, Paul Chambers, Philly Joe Jones.

VINYL is TRASHED. As if beat with hammers by angry 12-year-olds. Crackles and hiss, consistent. Many hairline marks, many feelable marks. Some gloss.  The Deep Grooved, (EXTREMELY RARE) “47 West 63rd New York 23” labels (No “R” under “Note”) are worn. See photos. THE VALUE OF THIS DISC IS IN THE EXTREMELY RARE LABELS.

Front LAMINATED COVER is in okay condition; with peeling at opening. Both seams and spine split, taped. EXTREMELY RARE COVER WITH ALTERNATE FONT COLORS ON LETTERING. See photos.  The “47 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket is worn and shows aging. See photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers.
