Description
This is an original press of John Coltrane's masterpiece "Giant Steps". This is the first 1960 Mono Deep-Groove Black Label press, Atlantic Records 1311. The larger ring on the label indicates the deep-groove manufacturing compared to later, non-deepgroove releases which have a smaller ring around the spindle hole. This particular copy sounds superb and is truly a spectacular listen. Rare find!
Record: VG+ The LP has very faint surface marks but nothing that can be heard during the listen. The LP maintains a nice, deep shine and the grooves look excellent. Both sides have maybe 2 or 3 1/2"-1" very light marks. These are not feelable and they do not affect the grooves. They are only seen under direct light. I have attached photos as well. The LP has been VPI cleaned and play tested, SOUNDS GREAT!
Cover: VG/VG+ The cover is in truly great condition with no significant marks, tears, bends, creases or ringwear. The only detractors are light tearing on the bottom of the spine and some staining and discoloration on the back cover. Minor storage wear on the spines as shown in the pictures. The colors are still vibrant and it truly looks fantastic!
