Description

JOHN COLTRANE:   BLUE NOTE Records BLP-1577 (Mfd in NYC in the late 50's) This is a very hard one to find.  It's a most likely a very early, maybe First, Pressing.  The Cover is in EXCELLENT condition, with only very light shelfear.  No Bends, no splits, no writing.  The only blemish is the name on the Back (made with a rubber stamper). It's super clean.  I couldn't get good lighting on this, so none of the Pictures really do it justice. The Front has a small Store Sticker still attached to the top Left hand Corner.  Please note the tight, square corners on all 4 sides. Please scroll through all 12 Pictures that are posted here. The Label on SIDE 1 has a name stamped on it;  the Labe on SIDE 2 is clean and New. The Vinyl itself looks very clean and almost new/new. If there are any paper scuffs, they are so light that I can't see them. The Run-Off Groove has the Ear Mark on it, and the Machine Stamped RVG. It also has hand etched: BN-LP-1577 A and B.  There ;is also a small sideways 9 M in the Rrunoff Groove on both Sides.  BLUE TRAIN plays a Solid VG+ and Better.  MOMENT'S NOTICE plays VG+/VG++.  LOCOMOTION plays VG+/VG++.  I'M OLD FASHIONED plays VG+/VG++.  And LAZY BIRD plays VG++.   I've posted some audio clips from both sides of this record at: www.gate.net/~rhanes/johncoltranelpblue.wma - If you click onto this hyperlink, you can download them as WINDOWS MEDIA AUDIO FILES and listen for yourself. CRANK IT UP! I can ship this anywhere in the USA Media Rate for $4.00, or Air Priority for $16.00.  If it sells to a non-US Buyer for $50-$120, it will have to ship REGISTERED MAIL in addition to FIRST CLASS MAIL (but I'll pay $5.00 of the $13.65 Registered Mail Fee).  If it sells to a non-US Buyer for $120-$300, it will have to ship Air Priority ($48.00), and I'll have to pay for Insurance for the full amount sold. If it sells to a non-US Buyer for over $300, it will have to ship Global Express Mail, and I'll pay for Insurance. GLOBAL EXPRESS Postage Rates will have to be determined by the Post Office. It will depend on where the package ships. We'll have to figure it out later, but it will probably cost around $90-$130. It might be cheaper and/or better to ship this FEDEX, depending on where it has to be sent. Either way, it has to be sent Insured for full value. Please remember that this will have to be Insured for the full value. The POST OFFICE LOSES PACKAGES, don't blame me if it happens to you. Since I will have to insure it, I will have to declare full sales value; if paying other than PAYPAL, I can ship it any way you want. PAYPAL rules make it very difficult and expensive to ship anything out of the country now, since they require on-line Tracking Numbers. You can't get that with simple First Class International shipping. The US Post Office has made it very difficult to Insure packages leaving the country. I can take PAYPAL (and others). Again, if you can pay me and not use PAYPAL, I'll be happy to ship it any way you want it. PLEASE DON'T PAY UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVOICE FROM ME. Good luck!

I hope the Sound Clips all play OK for you.  The Recording was made with my fairly new, light Stereo Cartridge USB Turntable.  It was plugged directly into my PC, and the recording was made on the internal PC Audio Recorder, which only does Windows Media Audio files.  It's not the right Cartridge and Needle for any '50's albums, but it's the best I have.  I'm trying to find a more reliable recording system....   Thanks for your time.
