ATLANTIC 1373 (MONO - US LP) - JOHN COLTRANE - *Olé*
I tend to agree with many collectors who consider Coltrane’s output on Atlantic his best work. This red/purple MONO label version was released in 1961 and Coltrane’s soprano sax is backed by George Lane, Freddie Hubbard, McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones and others.
They do three long jams: Ole´, Dahomey Dance and Aisha.
DISC = EXCELLENT Lite-to-moderate use, a few surface marks including a couple lightly ‘feelable’ scratches with very little effect on playback … I heard only a very few barely audible clicks. Good gloss, looks and sounds great!
COVER = EXCELLENT Except for a partially split spine this would probably rate nm … minor staining on back.
