Description
This is AN EARLY 1960s MONO DEEP GROOVE PRESSING of the 1958 PRESTIGE RECORDS LP titled 'Soultrane' from tenor sax legend John Coltrane. It is Prestige Records U.S. catalog number 7142, yellow label heavy rigid vinyl deep groove pressing with 'RVG' machine stamped in the runout area, and '203 So. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, New Jersey' address on the record labels and at the bottom of both the back album cover and the Prestige Records custom inner sleeve. Album cover is thick cardboard with laminated front cover.

Condition of record is very conservatively a real nice high VG+ with all original gloss and just a couple of surface marks on the A-side which cannot be felt and do not affect play. Labels are in good shape with the only real flaw being a few light spindle marks. Condition of cover is real nice, also conservatively at a high VG+ with a small rubber stamp near the upper right corner of the back cover, a very small amount of ring and contact wear, and a little bit of general wear along the edges and on the corners. Cover has no water damage, splits, tears, writing, or stickers. Custom Prestige Records inner sleeve has some small creases, a 1" tear coming down from the top edge on one side, and a 2" split in its bottom edge which I have carefully and neatly repaired with clear tape. This sought after early press Prestige LP would make a great addition to any John Coltrane or modern jazz record collection! Media mail postage within the U.S. is $4.00.
