Description
You are bidding on an ORIGINAL, FIRST PRESSING EDITION!!! Of John Coltrane's BLUE TRAIN on the Blue Note Label, released 1957! This is the mono version (BLP-1577), which is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its stereo counterpart. We think that the mix is more natural, humane, "organic" and that the mixes are somewhat different than on the stereo version.
**This record has the "Ear" symbol (a pretzel-like engraving about 1/4"/6mm long) in the trail off vinyl, which on some jazz labels is associated with very early or first pressings
**This is the ORIGINAL WHITE AND BLUE "BLUE NOTE" Label with 63rd Street, New York Address on the label (on BOTH SIDES of the record)
**The Record has Rudy Van Gelder or his initials (RVG) clearly stamped or hand etched in the trail-off vinyl (dead wax)
THIS IS AN ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC FIRST U.S. PRESSING; THIS IS NOT A REISSUE, AN IMPORT, OR A COUNTERFEIT PRESSING!!

VINYL: VISUALLY GRADED AT VG+/PLAY GRADED AT VG++/EXCELLENT (SOME HAIRLINE SCRATCHES, MINOR SCUFFS, PLAYS BEAUTIFULLY, WITH VERY LITTLE BACKGROUND NOISE, NO SKIPPING WHATSOEVER)
LABELS: CLEAN, NO WRITING
COVER: GRADED AT VG+/++ THE ORIGINAL LAMINATED, GLOSSY COVER (NO WRITING, NO SEAMSPLITS, SOME MINOR DISCOLORATION ON THE BACK AS SEEN IN THE PIX, VERY STRONG SPINE, ESPECIALLY FOR ITS AGE. VERY IMPRESSIVE! NO CUTOUTS, DRILL HOLES, SAW MARKS, INDENTATIONS, ETC ETC)
