JOHN COLTRANE-MEDITATIONS 1966 IMPULSE! RECORDS GATEFOLD LP AS-9110 IN A SOLID VG+ CONDITION. MICE VINYL!! Following up his landmark A Love Supreme album was going to be a tough task indeed but John Coltrane with a little help from fellow tenor sax player, Phoenix Sanders pulled off the feat and then some in this auction. The album also marks the last time that Coltrane would record with pianist McCoy Tyner and drummer Elvin Jones. Notable cuts on this free jazz release include Compassion, Love & the monumental The Father And The Son And The Holy Ghost. All fans of the legendary tenor sax player need this one in their collection, it's an essential!!
The record is in an easy VG+ condition with just very mild surface wear on either side(very light scuff on side 2, a couple of very light hairlines on side 1) that definitely do not hamper play at all, plays well throughout with a bare minimum of surface noise. The laminated gatefold cover has minor rubs on the mouth edge corners and the original inner sleeve has a split yet still holds the record. A terrific buy!!
