Description
JOHN FAHEY lp Death Chants , Break Downs & Military Waltzes
Takoma Records, #C-1003. This is mono. All true first pressings are mono
This is not the 1967 Re-Release with different versions
First Pressings are identified by the label art. Real First pressings have silver print on black labels. There are 2 horizontal lines through the center of the record. The label is glossy, not flat
This lp has the 2 horizontal lines and is glossy
We grade aurally. Side 1 of the record is a strong VG+. Random click or pop, a very small paper scuff. The sound is terrific. There is plenty of original gloss.
Side 2 has some visible scuffs and abrasions, but NO SCRATCHES. The sound is ever so slightly not quite as good Side 1
The jacket is incredibly heavy cardboard. The artwork was hand-screened by Fahey and friends one night. It was limited to 300 records
The overall grade of the jacket is VG+. There are some minor flaws. The top right seam has a 3" split, top left seam is worn through the black border, not split. The corners have slight dings, are not rounded, but not quite perfect, either. The are worn spots on the bottom black bordered seam
The bottom left front and bottom right back have a yellowish hue, which I am guessing is from too much glue that was used when affixing the cover
