This record is a signed copy of John Hammond's album "Big City Blues" released in 1964 on the Vanguard record label. This high-fidelity stereo LP features a variety of blues, harmonica blues, and electric blues, with a 12" vinyl record size and a speed of 33 RPM. The original inner sleeve and cover are included, and the record is in very good condition. Both the sleeve and disc were signed by John the same night. Read below! The date John Hammond signed the back of sleeve and disc label was April 16, 1991 at Tramps music venue. (Charlie Musselwhite was playing that also and I'll eventually list the Sam Charts record he signed) Charlie and the Nighthawks played that night also are they were very good - a note on that that when I list Sam Charters record.
I had met John Hammon before, gig in Greenwich Village and he lived near me next to friends in lower Manhattan at the time.
I'm not one to fake a signature and I can give a potential buyer ways for authentication if requested. I sat at a table with his table and Marla, who eventually John married. Any questions please contact me. This record has some sleeve tape repair and a little sleeve separation lower rigjt corner. also some writing on back by me years ago and sticker with my old address. I will ship record outside sleeve, everything bubble wrapped. Signing makes this a good collector recording.
