Up for auction is this great Blues LP by John Lee Hooker titled "John Lee Hooker sings Blues 16 selections-Every One A Pearl" on the King label # 727 released in 1960. On the back cover, the last two songs of Side 1 are listed as being "Poor Joe" and Stomp Boogie" but are actually "Shake' Em Up" and "Happy Blues". Side 2 lists "Who's Been Jivin' You" but is actually "Blue Guitar Blues". Rare Variation? Side 1 is; "Wandering Blues", "I'm Gonna Kill That Woman", "Heart Trouble Blues", "Don't You Remember Me", "Slim's Stomp", "The Numbers", "Shake' Em Up" and "Happy Blues". Side 2 is; "Nightmare Blues", "Moaning Blues", "Don't Go Baby", "Thinking Blues", "Late Last Night", "Devil's Jump", "Blue Guitar Blues" and "Race Track". The vinyl is in VG to VG+ condition, plays through on both sides and sounds pretty good with occasional pops and hissing. The cover is in excellent condition. There is a 1/2" split on the bottom right hand corner of the cover but other than that very little wear. The overall condition of this record is VG+ to VG.
GRADING:
MINT Perfect record, clean and glossy, no marks.
MINT- Very clean with only one or two light marks; plays and sounds perfect. Clean labels.
VG++ Very few surface marks but no scratches. Should look fairly new, play through and sound good with minimal surface noise. Labels may have small amount of writting or sticker.
VG+ More surface marks and maybe a few faint scratches. Has some shine left. Should still play and look good but with more surface noise.
VG Still a nice record but looks used with some scratches. Still plays fairly well with a few obvious pops and or hissing.
VG- Record shows lots of wear, marks and or scratches, and the sound quality is poor.
