THIS IS the 1962 US ORIGINAL PRESSING on VEE JAY label. SINGLE COVER + COMPANY INNER SLEEVE [in G+ condition, with tears, breaks, some missing parts]. The cover is in VG condition: normal wear on front/rear (surface ringwear/edgewear) BUT discolouration/wear on spines/corners, 2 mendable splits on top/bottom spines (4+7cm, near right corners), left spine is fully readable, for details see photos (with and without flashlight). The vinyl (despite noticeable hairlines/marks) is from VG to VG(+) condition [with clicks/crackles] and plays astonishing good and more than acceptable. RARE FIRST PRESSING.

Ons of the best Vee-Jay LP........The band backing the Hook on this album is the top: later known as The Funk Brothers (the house band of Motown),Andrew "Mike" Terry baritone sax,Henry Cosby tenor sax,Joe Hunter piano,Larry Veeder guitar,James Jamerson bass,Benny Benjamin drums;the "sound" is really great,all the instruments are perfectly amalgamated following the metronomic rhythm section,an example on how to produce music.From the first song,the legendary "Boom Boom" (Hook's biggest hit for Vee-Jay, #1 in the r&b charts and even #60 in the pop charts),to "What Do You Say" that closes the album,all the songs are really good,so is hard to say the best...for me "Boom Boom" and "Blues Before Sunrise".What a masterpiece!...(AllMusic User Review)
