JOHN LEE HOOKER "House Of The Blues" 1959 Chess Records MONO LP-1438.

Original black and silver label "deep grove".

JLH's first LP, and he is at his best - moving and grooving!

CONDITION

DISC (visual grading) = VG MINUS to VG. Many light marks.

DISC (aural grading) = VG++.  Play graded on a Denon DP-7F direct drive turntable.  Light background noise.  Music plays without distortion.  A smooth ride!  At first I thought there was a skip right at the beginning of Side 1, but after listening to a digital version online (which sounded exactly the same), I realize it's just John Lee Hooker's unique sense of rhythm!

LABELS = VG to VG+ 

COVER = VG to VG+.  Edge wear to top and bottom seams.  Writing on spine is crisp and clear.  Light ring wear.  Corner wear.  Approx. 3" seam split at upper right edge.  Approx. 2" seam split at lower right edge.  Small tear on front cover (to right of "R" in "Hooker").  Sticker on back cover (upper left corner).  Pencil writing on back cover.  (Initials above "Chess LP"; and "Ground Hog Blues" is underlined and has an "X" beside it).

Overall this a very sweet LP!  Looks good, plays good - great for your house party/Sat. night fish fry!

Record will be packaged carefully with disc outside of cover in oversize Uline box with 4 pads of corrugated cardboard + eco-friendly styrofoam (doesn't shred) to avoid any damage to LP.  

Buyers Overseas and in Canada can choose to have LP shipped in a standard LP mailer for lower cost at buyer's own risk.  This is listed under international shipping options as "Economy Int'l Shipping".  I do not recommend this option as damage to the LP is more likely.
