Absolutely stunning copy of the super-rare 1963 pressing of John Lee Hooker’s House of the Blues LP on Chess mono 1438. A very rare early pressing with the black shield label. These original records are almost never in very good condition, but this copy is simply gorgeous. The disc is magnificently clean and plays near flawlessly and just beautifully. There are a few very slight superficial scuffs but barely at all. Really an unbelievable copy. Not only that but the cover is also beautifully clean and crisp. No ring wear, no seam splits, only a little light corner and edge rubbing at the bottom, and a tiny bit of discoloration on the back. A touch of edge wear at the right, too, but barely. Really an unbelievable copg inside and out. I have never seen better. Near impossible to beat.
