Description

Absolutely gorgeous early rainbow-label copy of John Lee Hooker's first-ever LP, I'm John Lee Hooker, on Vee-Jay VJLP-1007. Released in 1959, this album features songs recorded from 1956-58, some of his best stuff. And this is a wonderful mono copy, not the inferior stereo. The disc is simply beautiful, better than almost any copy I have ever seen. There are a few superficial scuffs but they don't affect the play at all. Plays very nearly flawlessly and just beautifully. The cover has some general wear, with some whitening edges and soft corners, and some light creasing at the top right, but no seam splits and only the slightest hint of ringwear on the front. The spine is even readable, which is uncommon. Really pretty clean overall and striking. Comes with the original VJ inner sleeve, too. This is a truly beautiful early copy, hard to beat.
