JOHN LEE HOOKER LP JOHN LEE HOOKER SINGS BLUES (King Records 727) Released 1960.

 

   Both the record & the cover are in very fine condition. Indeed, the front cover looks mint! Original silver & blue Deep Groove King label. "Slim's Stomp," "Stomp Boogie" & "Devil's Jump" are among these 16 excellent blues numbers. Album concludes with "Race Track." Recorded in the original mono. The disc itself is in really fine condition. The bright & glossy front cover is nice to look at & has no major blemishes. And the back cover looks nice, as well. Our copy came from the original owner, who took very good care of these albums. We will be listing more great blues rarities from this collection shortly. Very fine reflective sheen on the grooves. Pressed on a thick heavy slab of wax with sturdy, high-quality cover. (Etched matrix "K-12-727-B-1").

COVER - VG++ 

  Cover has no stains, cut-out marks, ink spills, puncture holes, tape, water damage, writing, bubbles, price tags or stickers. Very nice glossy finish&  color tone. Two inches of tidy seam split on top edge. The seam split is not frayed & is not visible from the front or back. No ring wear. Flat cover with no bends, creases, waves or bowing. Small amount of corner banging. No rubbing or scuffing on front. Some small scuff marks on back. Label looks quite nice: free of stains, marks, scuffs, cuts & writing. Sharp-cut hole with some faint transparent spindle brushings.

  No scratches, skips, or residue on the disc or dead wax. Some faint, shallow inaudible pits of a sixteenth of an inch or so & three shallow dimples of similar size. The disc still exudes a nice surface sheen. Free of chips, cracks & warping. The thick platter holds its sound better than a cheaper modern pressing.
