Description
Australian original vintage 1989 pressing, there was only one issue in Australia and this is it.
An essential John Lee Hooker album – ripper tracks are track 1 with Carlos Santana and track 2 with Bonnie Raitt. Other tracks feature Charlie Musselwhite, Los Lobos, Robert Cray, Canned Heat and George Thorogood. Early JLK albums are subtle blues with just his strong distinctive voice and guitar, this album with other blues greats has tracks that deserve to be appreciated loud. The huge success of this album permitted John Lee Hooker to live out the end of his life in comfort.
Vinyl Grade: +VG, lovely high gloss, a few light scratches and some trace/hairlines only.
Sound Quality: +VG, the sound quality is fine, loud and clear with just a little light surface noise on some tracks, mainly intros/endings and does not detract from the great blues music, fully play tested to describe.
Cover: NM, near mint cover, flat, no damage, no edge wear.
Labels: clear, no spindle wear.
Records graded directly under very bright table light for the visual grade. Sound quality checked by playing to ensure that visual grade and sound quality are consistent.
Mint M and Near Mint NM: Looks perfect as new. N and NM is only appropriate for new reissue records and not for vintage vinyl that has been played, regardless of how perfect it may look.
Excellent Plus +EX: Lovely gloss, no visible scratches, scuffs or marks. Has been played but has been handled well and still in great condition. (highest grade that I use for vintage vinyl)
Excellent EX: Lovely gloss, shows some slight signs of wear, including light trace/hairlines from the inner sleeve, light scuffs or very light marks that you would not expect to hear as surface noise.
Very Good Plus +VG: Shows a few more very light marks than is allowable for EX so not quite EX. These signs of use would be expected to cause some light surface noise but not to detract from the music.
Very Good VG: Shows light scratches and marks and some that you would expect to cause surface noise, especially in soft passages, between tracks and during a song?s intro and ending but not so much as to overpower the music which can still be enjoyed.
Very Good Minus -VG: Shows significant wear and marks that you would expect to cause noticeable surface noise that detracts from the music.
Good G: In the record world, 'Good' is not good! From here on down (Fair, Poor), we're talking about beat-up records lacking much of the original gloss and with many scratches and marks that you would expect to cause very noticeable surface noise and clicks/pops that seriously detract from enjoyment of the music.
