What you are bidding on is a real nice copy of JOHN LEE HOOKER: WITH JOHN MAYALL AND THE GROUNDHOGS. This is a classic blues record on the tiny CLEVE RECORDS, USA pressing. It's like shopping in a time warp! If you need a copy of this, this is the one. Tough to find an first pressing, no bar code.
John Lee Hooker would make several more trips to Europe throughout the 1960s. On one tour he was placed with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers as a backing band, but this did not seem to fit John's style too well. He met a guitarist named Tony McPhee, whose band The Groundhogs had been named for a Hooker composition, "Groundhog Blues". The band proved to fit well with Hooker and they worked behind him on several of his British visits. An album was also released entitled, "The Groundhogs With John Lee Hooker And John Mayall" (1968, Cleve Records).

About the used lps. We visually grade these, we don't have the time to play all we sell, we sell hundreds a week. In most cases we grade NM lps as VG+ to be safe. If I put "It looks unplayed" then it is probably unplayed....If I put NM, someone will find a piece of dust and complain....
Be sure to read the description carefully, sometimes we will sell reissues that are sealed. We will try our best to denote, the year of release and label and number. You are welcome to email any questions prior to bidding. We cannot be held responsible if you do not read and fully understand the descriptive notes. We will put in the description if it is a first pressing. If not it will be an early pressing. Thanks.
