Up for sale is a very nice early UK copy of the late John Lennon’s ground breaking first solo album released at the end of 1970 following the dissolution of the Beatles. ‘John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band’ is widely regarded as one his best, and was recorded after the singer and Yoko Ono underwent primal scream therapy.
This is a genuine original first UK pressing with the earliest matrix numbers, side 1 - YEX827-1U and YEX828-2U on side 2. Low starting price with no reserve to sell quickly. The record has been carefully stored upright in a PVC sleeve throughout my ownership.
The single sleeve which is fully laminated is in EXCELLENT condition. No writing, tears, or marks. Very slight ring wear but no creases. For its age it presents very well. Spine is excellent, uncrushed and fully legible. Sadly the original paper inner sleeve with all the track listing and album credits is missing. I have stored the record in a generic white poly lined inner.
The record is in at least VERY GOOD PLUS condition. Bright and shiny surface on both sides, some light crackle at places, hardly any sleeve removal marks visible, however there is a visible surface mark on the last track on side 1, which doesn’t interfere with the playback. Side 2 is in EXCELLENT condition and both sides plays very nicely throughout, the record sits flat on the turntable. NO SKIPS OR JUMPS.
Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition.
The track listing is as follows:-
Side 1: Mother; Hold On; I Found Out; Working Class Hero; Isolation;
Side 2: Remember; Love; Well Well Well; Look at Me; God; My Mummy’s Dead.
Fully test played before listing and wet cleaned with my record cleaner. I will pack the record very carefully so that it arrives in the same condition and postage will be FIRST CLASS tracked, the cost reflects this.
I’m having a clear out to make room so need to sell. Buy with confidence from a very trusted ebayer. All my records are carefully stored and all my items are genuine and original and from a non-smoking and pet free home.

Records are graded in the item title at the top. Where two grades appear (eg EX/VG) the first is the vinyl and the second is the cover or sleeve. Where just one appears, this is the vinyl and indicates the original cover isn't present.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
