Description
This is a very good/near mint condition vinyl record album, a 1975 release on the American Adam VIII label (A8018, orange label, black type) by singer/songwriter John Lennon, “Roots: John Lennon Sings The Great Rock & Roll Hits.”
15 tracks of classic sounds, including songs like “Be-Bop-A-Lula," "Ain't That A Shame," and "Stand By Me.”
From the wiki folks, "ROOTS: John Lennon Sings The Great Rock & Roll Hits is a rare mail-order album consisting of rough mixes of Lennon's Rock 'n' Roll album. It was available through television sale for three days in January, 1975 before Lennon and Apple/EMI pulled it off the market. Lennon then rush-released his "official" version in February 1975.
Cover in vg+ condition - a couple of spots front and back.
Vinyl in vg+ condition - a couple of fine marks, some sleeve scuffs.
Side seam reads, "John Lennon Sings The Great Rock & Roll Hits."
Includes printed inner sleeve with other Adam VIII albums (in only good shape, some moisture ripples, one side is completely torn, while the other side is nearly all torn), *and*, the rarer Adam VIII return address mailer with more catalog (see scan).
