This is one of a series of rare or sealed LPs and EPs that I will be listing over the next several weeks and months.  

This item is a very rare and very cool collectible – an original Apple Records pressing of the Two Virgins vinyl LP, released in 1968.  You probably all know the story of how John and Yoko met, at a show of Yoko’s work with the ladder to the spyglass showing “yes”, the “Breathe” card and so on.  When they eventually got together, in the Biblical sense, it was during a period of time when Cynthia was on holiday in Greece.  I happen to be re-reading Peter Brown’s The Love You Make right now, and the story of how Cynthia learned – also recounted in the recent Lennon – A Life book as well – paints a disturbing picture of John.  In any event, this record was scandalous at the time on so many levels.  Most of all, of course, was the nude cover art.  I think this was an example of taking artistic sensibility way, way too far.  The “music”, or whatever one would choose to call the sonic smorgasbord that is on the record, is quite bizarre.  But, it really is an essential to any Beatles / Lennon collection.

The vinyl is in VG+ to excellent condition.  The cover is in VG+ condition only because of the mild wear shown, as it is fully intact without tears or splits, and as shown in the photo.   

I do not use stock photos.  The photo shows the actual item up for auction. 

I am not a dealer, and all of the items I place up for auction are from my personal collection gathered over the past forty years (education expenses – and soon-to-be college expenses -- are the reason I am selling my collection...). 

Shipping and handling is determined by weight and is per record, not per title.  The shipping costs are as follows: $4.00 for one record via media mail to anywhere in the U.S.   Each additional record is an additional $0.40 for media mail shipping.  Priority shipping within the U.S. is a function of weight and postal zone, and I will e-mail an invoice indicating the cost of priority (I can also provide this info while the auction is pending, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of records). 

Insurance through the USPS is available, and once again my invoice will provide the cost information. 

 NOTE – there is no tracking of packages through the USPS without delivery confirmation.  If you would like tracking ability, you must purchase delivery confirmation for $0.75.

International Buyers – Please Note:

·         Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

·         Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

·         These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

·         We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

If you are outside the US, the two basic types of shipping are 1st Class International (less expensive) and Priority International (more costly but slightly faster).  The cost depends upon the weight and the country of destination.  I will provide the cost for each option in my post-auction invoice (and, again, I can provide the info during the auction, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of records). 

NOTE – there is no tracking of packages through the USPS unless it is specifically purchased through the USPS.  If you want tracking, please let me know and I will provide the cost for that service. 

I will always combine items, so that your shipping costs will be more manageable.  Payment must be made by paypal as per recent rules imposed by eBay.  If I do not receive payment for an item within fifteen (15) days of the end of the auction andr I do not hear from you in response to e-mails, I will consider the auction results void and relist the item(s) for auction.
