JOHN LENNON :- Walls & Bridges - 1974 UK Apple PCTC 253 LP with Open Out Leaf Sleeve , Liner Sleeve and Info Booklet

This fantastic album is just one of a lovely collection of Beatle items I have purchased from an ex label licensing employee at EMI Records , Manchester Square , London W1

Matrix YEX 938 - Z5 / YEX 939 - Z6

Copies of EMI records were available to employees working on current releases , with stickers attatched to sleeves or labels stating 'Factory Sample' or 'Manufacturers Property'

The disc has no signs of use , with no marks or wear evident .......... There is no label wear , with only a minimal trace of spindle use : MINT minus condition.

The sleeve is remarkably bright , flat and crisp ...... with barely any signs of use : MINT minus condition.

The Liner Sleeve and Booklet are also in MINT minus condition

Track Listing :-

2. Whatever Gets You Thru The Night
3. Old Dirt Road
4. What You Got
5. Bless You
6. Scared
7. No 9 Dream
8. Surprise Surprise (Sweet Bird Of Paradox)
9. Steel And Glass
10. Beef Jerky
11. Nobody Loves You (When You're Down And Out)
12. Ya Ya

Personnel: John Lennon (vocals, guitar, piano); Jesse Ed Davis, Eddie Mottau (guitars); Bobby Keys (tenor saxophone); Howard Johnson (baritone saxophone); Steve Madaio, Ron Alrea, Frank Vicari (horns); Elton John (piano, organ, background vocals); Nicky Hopkins (piano); Ken Ascher (organ, clavinet, mellotron); Klaus Voormann (bass); Jim Keltner, Julian Lennon (drums); Arthur Jenkins (percussion); Harry Nilsson, May Pang, Lori Burton, Joey Dambra (background vocals).Recorded at the Record Plant, New York City.WALLS AND BRIDGES was made during Lennon's marital separation, while carrying on a Yoko-approved dalliance with May Pang. Lennon addresses the awkward yet open triangle with songs to each of them. In "Bless You," he wistfully wonders how and where Yoko is during their time apart and proclaims an eternal love. "Surprise, Surprise (Sweet Bird Of Paradox)" finds him admitting to being jaded to the point of self-delusion only to find beauty, love and surprise in the form of a new lover right under his nose. "What You Got" affirms "You don't know what you got until you lose it"--clearly a man struggling with a personal situation through his art. "Beef Jerky" sounds like an homage to that great '60s instrumental by The Barkays, "Soul Finger." "Ya Ya" is a true oddity: Lennon and 11-year-old son Julian, future rock star in his own right, in a short, bluesy piano/drum duet. Of course there is also his duet with Elton John on the partying, fun-loving "Whatever Gets You Through The Night." The gem of the bunch, though, is "#9 Dream," easily one of Lennon's best post-Beatles efforts, steering through myriad moods and grooves adding up to a bona fide pop masterpiece.

I add new listings most days ....... Please take a look

I usually start auctions at a low price to generate interest in bidding

All items are graded Audio / Visually , and played on a high grade system

Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I understand the requirements in the gradings of discs and sleeves , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised

I grade items ( using the UK Record Collector Grading System) beneath a light , to be sure of condition

I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as STUNNING !! RARE !! AWESOME !! , padded out with grossly long winded 'descriptions' ..... Many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and does not correspond with the actual facts , and would be laughable but for the fact it is totally misleading. I take time and care to graded items correctly , and only list quality records , with concise , accurate grading descriptions

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest !) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists 'live' ( I saw The Beatles twice and Segovia !)

I began selling professionally in 1976 , and have a wide knowledge of the items I sell (and always learning !) having bought copies of my own at time of issue , always being interested in the sleeve , label and disc variations. If you have any queries , I will do my best to answer correctly

Please check my feedback ratings , you will see that a large amount are from repeat buyers ( many thanks !) .... and in the event of genuine complaints will remedy the situation as soon as possible
